Muasau high on Nebraska

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Sierra Vista (Ariz.) athlete Jake Muasau was one of several top Arizona prospects in attendance at this past weekend's Palo Alto NIKE camp.
The 6-foot-1, 210 pound Muasau worked out with the wide receivers in Palo Alto, but several Division I programs are recruiting Muasua as either a outside linebacker or strong safety prospect.

Muasau currently holds one offer at this point from Nebraska, but after his performance in Palo Alto, look for several more teams to give him a hard look.
"A lot of guys from Arizona came out here today so we can get some more West coast exposure," Muasau said. "Right now Nebraska is my only offer, but both Cal and Oregon are really, really close to offering me. There are a lot of schools close to offering right now."
Nebraska safeties coach Bill Busch signed five high school prospects from the state of Arizona in the class of 2006.
Busch was the first coach to jump on Muasau, and because of that he said the Huskers have the early lead in his recruitment.
"Nebraska is my No. 1 right now," Muasau said. "They showed me a lot of love by offering me first, so I just have to show them a lot of love back.
"Me and Coach Busch text message pretty much every day. I also give him a call every once in a while to see how everything is going."
Muasau added that he's well aware of the fact that NU signed five players from the Phoenix area in last year's recruiting class. In fact, Muasau said he grew up with a few of the future Huskers in Phoenix before he moved to Sierra Vista after middle school.
"I know they signed five guys from Arizona last year," Muasau said. "I'm friends with a few of them. Prince (Amukamara) and Jaivorio Burkes, those are my friends from middle school, so I know them real well."
This summer, Muasau said he plans to visit NU unofficially and he also hopes to set up an official visit for early next season. The only camp Muasau plans to attend this summer is Louisville's one-day elite camp.
"Teams like me because I'm a pretty physical player and I like contact," Muasau said. "I love to hit. I just love contact."
