Mr. Excitement surprised by lack of it

San Antonio Madison all-purpose back Tony Green has been called by one college coach the most exciting player in the city with the ball in his hands. But for some reason there hasn't been as much excitement off the field as there has been on it.
"I'm still looking for my first offer," Green, who is 5-foot-8 and 164 pounds, said. "I think the school closest at this point might be Midwestern State. They told me they're going to offer me, but I'm surprised that I've not gotten any offers from some of the other schools.

"I think most want to see my have another good season. I'm going to have to step it up even more as a senior."
It might be tough, though, to top his 2004 season.
He rushed for 1,316 yards and 19 scores as a junior. Those honors allowed him to be named all-city, all-area and all-district. It also allowed him to become a regular on the mailing lists of programs like Baylor, Iowa, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UCLA – but none of them called in May or have hinted they're going to offer.
"I'm just going to work hard at getting better and better," he said. "That's my No. 1 goal."
