Moya has co-leaders

One of the elite athletes in the West region this year is El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge tight end Ryan Moya. Moya blew up at the NorCal Nike Camp where he tested off the charts and looked very good in the pass catching drills. His stock has been soaring ever since.
Moya, 6-2, 225 pounds clocked a 4.59 in the 40, 4.38 in the shuttle, jumped 30 inches in the vertical and did 39 reps on the bench and his SPARQ Rating of 99.00 was the 4th best of any player we tested on the entire Nike Camp tour.

Moya showed as a junior he's more than just a workout warrior as he caught 39 balls for 663 yards and eight touchdowns. He doesn't have the prototypical tight end built being just 6-2 but it's not to like his combination of speed, hands, strength and the ability to get down the field.
"Everyone is recruiting me as a tight end except USC who likes me as a fullback-H back type," Moya said. "I'm not really interested in playing fullback, even though they told me I would be used as a pass catcher and not an every down blocker.
"Right now, I have offers from Fresno State, UCLA, Boise State, Illinois, UNLV, San Diego State, Cal and Northwestern. Northwestern was my most recent offer and I was very excited about. I have a lot of family in the Midwest and I definitely want to take a visit out there. UCLA and Cal are my top two right now though. I really like the coaching staffs at both places and like the West Coast and Pac 10 style of play.
"I already camped at Cal and I'm camping with UCLA right now. I'm looking at everything both schools have to offer. How good the quarterbacks at each school are, how often the tight end gets the ball and my relationship with the tight end coach. I'm not in any hurry to make my decision though, I want to take my trips before I decide anything and like I said, I want to see how the teams play on the field this season to see how I'll fit in."
