Move to OT helps put McKee on map

It’s amazing what a change of position can do for your college stock. Daphne, Ala., two star standout Ryan McKee had played tight end most of his high school career, but now that he’s moved to offensive tackle – the spot where most schools project him at because of his 6-foot-6, 260-pound frame – teams are starting to get more serious about him.
In fact one team, Southern Miss, has already extended a scholarship offer and will host him on an official visit on December 10. Other teams, like Kentucky (December 3), Alabama, Oregon and Middle Tennessee State are also heavily interested.

“Southern Miss has offered and it’s a great place,” McKee said. “I love Alabama. I just can’t help myself. It’s such a great place. Kentucky says they want me, and it’s a great place, but I have no official offer yet. Oregon has sent me more stuff than anybody, but they probably think I wouldn’t travel that far away.
“They could be wrong. Middle Tennessee is the only school still talking to me about playing tight end, and that would be great.”
McKee said he would like to wait until after he completes his visits before he makes a decision.
