After saying he wasn't planning to make a big deal about his college announcement, Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice defensive back Jonas Mouton has decided to make his college choice on the Fox Sports Signing Day show wednesday night at 6:30 PST.
Mouton will be one of the three players making his college choice on the show along with Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft receiver Jamere Holland and Encino (Calif.) Crespi lineman Sione Fua.
Mouton recently narrowed his choices to Michigan, Texas and USC and we heard over the weekend that he had told the Trojans they were out and it was a battle between the Wolverines and Longhorns. We've felt Michigan has been the team to beat for awhile now but the Horns have made up a ton of ground in the last few weeks.
It has been no secret that Mouton's mother, a UT grad, is pushing the Horns big time and there is more than a little family pressure on the safety to attends mom's alma mater. Still when it's all said and done, we're still hearing that the Wolverines are the team to beat here and will likely be the recipient of one of the nation's top safeties when he announces tomorrow night.
