Mouton is down to three

Two schools we expected to be in the race all the way down to the wire have made the final cut for Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice defensive back Jonas Mouton. The third school in the mix is a minor surprise only because of how late they jumped in to the race but none the less, this one is up for grabs.
Mouton, 6-2, 210 pounds is one of the nation's top safety prospects and a top 100 player nationally as well. After taking official visits to Nebraska, LSU, Michigan, USC and Texas, the athlete said he will decide between three schools.

"I'm down to USC, Michigan and Texas," Mouton said. "I'm going to wait until Signing Day but I don't plan on having some big party or press conference. I'm just going to wait it out and then call the coaches."
Here's how Mouton broke down his three finalist.
USC- "They're the local school and I know a lot of the players on the team already. Plus they have a great class coming in and I love the coaching staff."
Michigan- "Michigan has been with me from the beginning and I had a great trip there. I like Ron English a lot, their DB coach and I think I could play early there."
Texas- "I've always liked Texas, my mom graduated from there. They have a great program, a great defense and I like the style of how they play. Those DBs come up and hit and that's my style too."
Mouton always plays it fairly close to the vest and didn't give any hints if there is one leader among the trio. At this point, everyone will have to wait a few more days to find out where the hard hitting DB will play his college ball.
