Mountaineers making push for Reed

West Virginia has not yet offered a scholarship to junior Ohio tight end Rakim Reed but it may only be a matter of time until that happens.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect from Canton (Ohio) Timken Senior already has an offer from Pitt, and now one of the Panthers' biggest rivals is showing a lot of interest.

"I don't have any plans right now but West Virginia's recruiting coordinator, Jeff Mullen, came to the school. I guess he said he's going to be recruiting me.
"I would like to try to visit West Virginia, Syracuse and several other Big East schools if I get the chance."
Reed has received junior day invitations from West Virginia and Ohio, but he isn't sure whether he will be able to make those trips just yet.
"I've got to see the dates on those," he pointed out. "I just saw they wanted me to go to their junior days. I don't really remember the dates."
Last month Reed said that though they haven't offered, UCLA is his favorite. Is the west coast school still at the top of his list?
"That's still the case," he affirmed. "I still like them."
