Moss discusses decision for ECU

Elizabeth City (N.C.) Northeastern linebacker Jamieon Moss landed his first offer on Friday. The 6-foot-3, 217-pounder promptly committed to the Pirates despite other interest. Moss sat down to discuss his choice further.
"I got the offer and verballed to East Carolina," he said. "Basically, I was familiar with their environment. I knew most of the players going there and most of the people at my high school transfer there. So, it's an easy transition from here to there.

"Then, I've seen the play and formations. On top of that, it's not that far of a location for my family."
With regards to East Carolina specifically, Moss liked a few things from his most recent trip last week.
"The thing that sticks out about East Carolina's coaches is that they were really excited and in your face," he said. "They are enthusiastic and really welcoming. The head coach came and when I told him I was going to be an East Carolina Pirate, he bear hugged me like I was his own son. I felt welcome there."
Despite the decision, Moss confirmed that he isn't closing the door on other schools.
"I am considering other schools like NC State, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech. They are all interested in me," he said. "I think I will be attending NC State this weekend for a visit. I also have to see what North Carolina has in store."
Moss posted 107 tackles, eight for loss and three sacks as he earned all-conference honors as a junior.
