Morris sets first official visit

Three-star athlete Jonah Morris and his Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban team are expecting to be in-season for two more weekends, but he will start the recruiting process immediately after its conclusion.

"I have one official visit set right now and that's Notre Dame for the second week of December," Morris reported. "My dad just said he wants to see the campus, meet the coaches and see if that's a place he sees me at. For myself, I want to see if I could see myself at that place for the future."
Morris had been committed to Michigan State since May, but stepped away from that commitment earlier this month.
"Right now I am just trying to see what's best for me," Morris said. "I had nothing against Michigan State, I just feel that I kind of rushed it. I didn't take enough visits to compare and see really what's best for me out there.
"They are definitely still part of it. I still like Michigan State."
Several schools have re-ignited or ramped up their interest in the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Morris, who plays both ways for his Akron Hoban team.
"Notre Dame, Kentucky, Indiana and Pitt, those are pretty much the schools I've been in touch with since (decommitting)," Morris said. "(Notre Dame), they like me both ways. At Indiana they think I can play both ways there too.
"I talked to (Kentucky) Coach (Vince) Marrow a week ago, and he still likes me on the offensive side, but he asked me how did I feel about playing some corner for him too. I told him I could do that. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me, whatever best suits me for the next level."
Akron Hoban is 12-1 this season and will play Zanesville on Friday in the Ohio Division III state semifinals.
