Morris receives big scholarship offer

Stephen Morris got some big news moments ago. The rising senior signal caller from Miami Monsignor Pace High School, got a verbal scholarship offer from the hometown team, the University of Miami.
"I called Miami and talked with coach (Mark) Whipple," Morris said. "They finally offered me. They will make it official with a letter in the mail when coach (Randy) Shannon comes back in town. He's out of town on vacation.

"I went there for a camp (one day) and did real well. I sat down with coach Whipple and had a talk and went over playbook.
"I like the scheme they have now. Coach Whipple has so much experience and he knows what he's talking about. I can get better there. Jacory (Harris) is a great guy and a competitor. He will help me come along as a quarterback. It's a great situation and a great school."
Morris, 6-2 and 186 pounds, now has scholarship offers from Miami, Virginia, Purdue, Central Florida, Florida International and Central Michigan.
"Miami is one of the favorites. I also like Florida, Virginia, Purdue and Central Florida. It's exciting now and will be a hard decision to make."
Morris will visit UCF and Miami at the end of the month. He will also camp at Friday Night Lights at Florida next week.
