Morris de-commits from FSU, names new top six

Wanya Morris has visited other schools since committing to Florida State in the spring and on Sunday, he decided to back off his commitment and re-open his recruitment.

The 6-foot-5, 275 pound offensive tackle out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson almost de-committed a little over a month ago, but after speaking with Jimbo Fisher that night, he decided to stay with the Seminoles.

After a lot of thought and discussions with some people close to him, he decided now is the time to open things up.

"I just want to evaluate all of my options again," said Morris. "I still like Florida State a lot and they are still one of my top schools. The coaches are great there and it is a top program.

"I just want to open up and weigh all of my options."

Over 20 schools have offered the Rivals 100 junior and nobody ever slowed their recruitment down of him.

Now that he is not committed to a school, he is ready to release a new top six.

"Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma are my top schools," said Morris.

He has attended games at Auburn and Georgia this season. He has visited each school other than Oklahoma at least once. He plans to check out Norman in the spring.

Morris wants to slow things down and make sure when he commits next time that it will be his final decision.

"I plan to just be patient and take visits now," said Morris. "I do not plan to commit again any time soon."

Morris is the second prospect from Grayon to de-commit from Florida. Ronald Thompkins did back in September.
