Morgan pushes back decision a bit

Garner, N.C. athlete Tony Morgan believes he is down to three schools. The 6-foot-0, 188-pounder plans to take officials to all three colleges before announcing a decision by midseason.
"I was going to try to make one more visit to Colorado or Marshall, but now I'm not really feeling like making those visits," he said. "I think my top three are South Carolina, North Carolina and East Carolina in that order. I just need a little more time before I make a decision midway through the season."

What stands out about the Gamecocks to the three-star prospect?
"I think I could be a good fit at South Carolina," he said. "I've got a teammate, Chris Culliver there and they are a building team. They are trying to get the best players to get that team where it needs to go. Steve Spurrier is a good coach that is upfront with his players and then just overall I feel that's the place for me."
Although Morgan clearly has South Carolina leading, two other schools are definitely in the mix.
"North Carolina is another good school and they are in-state. That's nice," he said. "They are a rebuilding team with Butch Davis. I could see myself fitting in on that team too.
"East Carolina was kind of a sleeper for me. Earlier in my decision making process they were down the list, but I visited there for a one day camp and that changed everything. Also, my mom loves that school. If not for my mom, I'd probably not give them a chance. She tells me they are a good school and I listen to her."
Next up for the No. 58 athlete in the country is setting up official visits.
"Actually I'm looking into officials," he said. "I'll probably take them to all three schools before I make a decision.
"Right now I'm mostly laying back and preparing for the season. Our team has a little work to do and we'll change it around in practice. As for me, coming into the season I'm trying to be a leader the best I can."
