Moretti lands three more offers

Four-star offensive tackle Jake Moretti had an inkling his name would make the rounds this spring as college coaches planned their stops for the evaluation period, but he was taken aback Monday with yet another major boost to his recruitment.
The early Rivals100 member for the 2017 class landed offers from Nebraska and UCLA early in the day before defending national champion Ohio State joined the chase, too, making Moretti one of the most highly sought offensive linemen in the West region. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect from Arvada (Colo.) Pomona is up to nine offers and more appear to be on the way.

"There should be other coaches coming by soon, but I'm not sure yet," Moretti said.
Moretti has a visit planned to Miami this summer and has made recent trips to the in-state schools, Colorado and Colorado State, whom were the first to offer.
The whirlwind of offers Monday definitely widened his outlook on the process.
"UCLA is a great academic school and a tremendous football program with coach (Jim) Mora," Moretti said. "Nebraska has a rich history and coach (Mike) Riley has good experience in college. And with Ohio State, they're the national champs and they have a great head Coach in (Urban) Meyer, who wins everywhere he goes. It was a great day."
Moretti said he doesn't know when he would visit the three latest schools that offered, but he's hopeful that would happen at some point in the coming months. He wants to gather as much information as possible on all the schools that make up his list.
Moretti helped Pomona to a 9-3 record as a sophomore last season, paving the way for a rushing average of over 230 yards per game.
