Garden City (Kan.) Garden City C.C. safety Hiram Atwater is one of the top defensive players in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference.
The three-star prospect already has scholarship offers from UAB, Iowa State and Akron and more schools are showing heavy interest.
"UAB is leading now," Atwater, who is 6-foot and 200 pounds, said. "I like the opportunity there with the depth chart and it's a real home feel. I like the atmosphere there."
Other schools like Memphis, Iowa State and the former staff at Kansas State are all showing interest.
"I think Memphis is the only that that I'm going to for sure visit," Atwater said.
"I graduate in December, so I don't have a lot of time to make a the decision. I will have two years to play two seasons."
Mid-term junior college players can begin signing on Dec. 15.
