More visits for 2016 R250 WR Hawkins

Brad Hawkins Jr. is one of the top receivers in the Mid-Atlantic for the 2016 class. Before his season at Camden (N.J.) started he took a series of visits.
"I went to Penn State and Virginia recently," said the 6-foot, 193-pound Hawkins. "We also went to Rutgers before that.

"Penn State didn't have practice the day I was up there because they wanted to get ready for the scrimmage," he said. "It was nice. They have a big campus. I think it was one of the best campuses I've been to so far. The head coach is a very good guy. I saw the team a little bit when they were in the meeting room. They were nice guys to talk to and they gave me some advice on how Penn State is.
"I got a tour of Virginia's campus and I did the camp there," Hawkins said. "I think I had the fastest shuttle time at the camp. It was a good time. I talked to the receivers coach and he's a cool guy. I knew a lot about him. He went to Virginia and went to the NFL and now he's back at Virginia coaching there. I met the freshman quarterback and he's a really nice guy.
"At Rutgers we toured the campus," he said. "I've been there multiple times. It was nice. We watch a practice and I saw some of the receiver drills. I talked to the receivers coach a little bit."
Hawkins is hoping to take a few more visits this season.
"We're supposed to be going to Maryland at some point," said Hawkins. "I don't know when we're going to head out to Michigan, Michigan State and West Virginia because of the season and school and practices."
Last year Hawkins scored 14 touchdowns on 45 catches and gained 805 yards. He also made 46 tackles on defense.
