More visits ahead for Johnson
Minneapolis (Minn.) North athlete Tyler Johnson has been sitting on the same four Power Five offers for several months, but remains a ways out from a decision.

"I honestly was thinking of taking some unofficials this summer, then take a few officials this fall," Johnson said. "I do want to see the games and how their stadium atmosphere is."
"I haven't really taken any visits, so I wouldn't say there is a team to beat right now because I haven't really experienced anything," Johnson said. "I don't really know what all the facilities look like, so I am just not sure who stands out. I still feel like they are all pretty equal."
While Johnson is looking to take some unofficial visits later this summer, he was able to attend a couple college camps earlier this summer.
"I went to the Notre Dame camp this summer. I think that was the only out-of-town camp I went to," Johnson said. "Coach (Keith) Gilmore said that the defensive backs coach liked me a lot and they're going to try and stay in touch with me.
"I did Minnesota's first team camp at the start of June. I had went with a lot of my high school football teammates and we just all went out and balled out."
With Minnesota's campus being located close to his home, Johnson has been able to develop a strong relationship with the Gopher's coaching staff.
"My relationship with Minnesota is pretty good," Johnson said. "I feel like we are at a place where we are perfect. They are still a top school, especially being the hometown school."
Comparing what he has seen of Minnesota to the other schools that have offered him will be Johnson's priority over the next few months.
"I was going to go to a camp at Iowa State, but they said I didn't have to come down because they have already offered," Johnson said. "Iowa, I am still trying to get down there to take a visit. Wisconsin, I am still trying to get down there and take a visit also. So, I've still got a lot of visits that I need to take care of, but I'm sure over time it will happen."
The 6-foot-2, 179-pound Johnson played all over the field for North High as a junior accounting for over 3,000 yards of total offense and 40 touchdowns. He also collected 20 tackles on defense and could project to either side of the football in college.
"When I went to the Gopher camp they had my stay a little later and do a lot of wide receiver reps. They said they want me as a wide receiver," Johnson said. "I got offered by Iowa State as a wide receiver, Iowa as a defensive back and Wisconsin as a defensive back, so it is pretty balanced out which side of the ball I'm going to be. I'm still willing to play (wherever)."
