More visits ahead for Hill

Four-star Detroit (Mich.) King cornerback Lavert Hill made official late last month when he de-committed from Penn State what had been apparent for the preceding six months - that his recruitment was pretty wide open. Hill and his Detroit King teammates completed a perfect 14-0 season and Division 2 state title Thanksgiving weekend, and now the nation's No. 194 ranked prospect is preparing to tackle his recruiting process.

WHAT'S NEXT? Hill is trying to decide whether to officially visit Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State this upcoming weekend and had not decided as of Tuesday at noon. Hill is also trying to get out of the region for official visits in January, with Texas, West Virginia and UCLA all in the mix for those trips. The Big Ten schools he does not visit this weekend, along with Michigan State which is also in contention for his services, will likely not receive his last official visits in January as he looks to go "somewhere far," for his January visits. Michigan State coach Harlon Barnett was in-home Monday, with Tennessee, Ohio State and Penn State expected in later this week. Hill just came off his first official visit of the process this past weekend to Tennessee.
IN HIS WORDS: "I had a good time (at Tennessee). Just the whole atmosphere down there, it is different from up here in Michigan. I was with (freshman running back) John Kelly, so he showed me a good time."
RIVALS' REACTION: Hill's friend and teammate, four-star wide receiver Donnie Corley, created a storm of speculation when he tweeted out earlier this week that he and Hill would be making their commitment announcements together. According to Hill, however, there is not a guarantee that they will be attending the same college and that announcement is not likely to come soon. They are looking at several of the same schools and would like to go to the college together if it works out, but are not yet a true package deal. As for the timing of this decision, Hill said it will likely be after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as there are more official visits he wants to take in January.
