More schools watching Texas QB

Flower Mound, Texas quarterback Nick Stephens has picked up some new interest from schools during the spring evaluation period and expects his first scholarship offer before long.
"A couple days ago, a coach from Texas came by the school," the 6-foot-3, 195-pound. "They told me they are sending the offensive coordinator down to watch me in practice here before long. Tulane's head coach was here on Friday and watched some of practice. A coach from Georgia Tech was here today, too.

"Then today after practice, my coach said that my first offer would be coming soon. I don't know who, and he wouldn't tell me who, but he said it will be coming very soon. I am thinking it will be one of the schools here in the state, maybe Baylor or TCU."
The Longhorns were the first school to call Stephens.
"A Texas coach, and I can't remember off the top of my head which one, called last night. They told me that they wanted me to come to their mini-camp in June. They want to see me in person and evaluate some more and go from there."
Stephens said the spring workouts are going good and he was happy to have them get started.
"I didn't play last year. I was at Flower Mound Marcus as a freshman and the fall of my sophomore year. Then I transferred. My family actually moved, but we were in the same district and the district ruled I couldn't play. So, I sat out my junior year, but I'll be on the field this fall. We spent a lot of time on that issue, but now I am ready to get on the field. I have been waiting for this spring season to get here, so I could get on the field and play. I can't wait for the season to get here, but the spring has been great."
