More offers, looming decision for RB Davis

For a while it appeared as though Rutgers was the only school that would offer Charles Davis, one of the top running backs in the Northeast.
Now it appears as though the 5-foot-11, 191-pound back from Neptune, N.J. will have plenty of offers to choose from. Louisville was the second school to offer Davis and now more have come along.

"Tulane's coach called and that's my newest offer," Davis said. "He put one in the mail. I got an offer from Louisville last week and also Cincinnati."
Davis said he does not have anything planned until June 6 when he will be at Rutgers for a barbecue. On Sunday he was planning on hanging out with Savon Huggins, Miles Shuler and some other guys on Sunday.
"We're planning on having a cookout and we all stay in touch. We mostly talk about football and stuff like that. We don't really talk about recruiting ... just football mostly," he said.
In spite of the new offers Davis has not made any progress in terms of narrowing his list or announcing favorites.
"I guess I'm more close to the coaches at Rutgers because that's my home state (school). I've just gotten to know them more," he said.
Davis plans on making his decision in the near future.
"Actually I think in the next couple of weeks I'm going to go ahead and do it (commit). I'm starting to get a little ready. We had a recruiter call the house at like 10:30 the other night and woke everybody up. My dad wasn't too happy about that," he laughed. "It wasn't too bad because it had to do with the time difference (in different parts of the country) but I think it's about time."
