More offers for Mooney

Offensive lineman Michael Mooney of Malvern (Pa.) Malvern Prep has quietly seen his offer list grow, which included two more recent offers, including one from Syracuse last night. Mooney will check out some of these schools this summer with a trio of upcoming visits.
"I got an offer from Syracuse tonight," said Mooney. "The coaches came into school in mid-April and this was the first time I talked to them since then."

Mooney already has some thoughts about the Orange, plus has a connection to the program.
"I'm excited about the offer because it's a great school and I like the Big East a lot," said Mooney. "The quarterback there now is also from my high school, Ryan Nassib."
Aside from Syracuse, Mooney also added a recent offer from Tulane. These two join previous offers from Northwestern, Purdue, East Carolina, Villanova, Towson and Delaware.
"Northwestern is showing the most interest right now," said Mooney. "And from the schools that have not offered, I'm getting a lot of interest from Virginia, Georgia Tech and Duke."
Mooney has not taken any recent visits, but does plan to visit Northwestern, Syracuse and Virginia this summer. He has also begun to think about a timeframe for a final decision.
"I hope to by the start of the season, but I don't want to rush anything," said Mooney, who also discussed what he is looking for in a school. "I'm looking for a school with good academics that competes at a high level for football, and a team that I feel comfortable with."
