More offers for Alabama pass rusher

Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park defensive end William Green is one of the top pass rushers in the Southeast for the Class of 2008. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder recently had a standout performance at an area combine and continues to pick up scholarship offers from many top programs.
"Tennessee and Louisville are the most recent offers," Green said. "They both have called me and told me how much they want me. They both got good programs and I kind of like the way Louisville and I was born in (Memphis) Tennessee."

Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Florida, Florida State, Duke and Georgia Tech all have offered in addition to the Vols and Cardinals.
Green has no leader among the schools he is considering.
"I am still wide open," he said.
Southern California also has shown interest in Green,
"They've sent me a couple of letters," he said. "If they offered, it would be some place I would be interested in looking at, but I'd have to really look at that because it's very far from home out in California and all."
Green will stay close to home when he makes an unofficial visit to Alabama this coming weekend for the Tide's spring game.
There are several things Green will take under consideration before making a final decision.
"I just want to go where I can feel most at home and the place I can fill my academic needs best," he said. "I want to be strength and conditioning coach for a college one day, so it's important that they have a good program."
This past weekend, Green was a standout at the inaugural Parkside Combine at Spain Park High.
"I did well," he said. "I got best in combine for players over 200 pounds."
Green ran a 4.68 40-yard dash, a 4.32 pro shuttle, had a 33.5-inch vertical leap and did 13 bench press reps of 185 pounds.
Green is a Rivals250 to watch selection for the Class of 2008.
