More offers arrive for three-star lineman

Slidell (La.) High School offensive guard Alex Hill is a prospect that has seen his name emerge late this spring as a offensive line prospect with a lot of potential and upside. After being offered first by Texas A&M, Hill has since added three more offers to his resume due to a strong effort this spring.
"Spring practice went great so it went a lot better than I planned on it going," Hill said. "Expectations were a lot higher than we thought they would be. We impressed our coaches a lot more than they thought they'd be impressed."

A star on the basketball court as well as the football field, Hill caught the eye of numerous college scouts that came through the Slidell practice fields with his athleticism.
"I was really in shape," he said. "A couple of coaches that came back said that they were astonished with the way I moved. I was personally nervous and I did a lot better than I thought I would."
Added to his Texas A&M offer, Hill has garnered official letters from Tulane, SMU and Southern Miss with more potentially on the way.
"Auburn and Tennessee, they told me they were going to offer me this summer when I come to camp," he said. "Those are good programs. It surprised me the way they came at me and it was like they were really interested."
Hill will be doing his best to make camps at the programs that are interested but with a hectic AAU basketball schedule, Hill will have a busy summer.
"I do plan on going to the Ole Miss camp and Auburn camp but the Tennessee camp is this weekend and there's no way I can make it because of transportation because I just found out a couple days ago. The only tough thing about the summer is that I have [AAU] nationals right when we start practice in like early August and late July."
Hill will also be camping at LSU. He already took in the campus at Baton Rouge recently where he met with Coach Les Miles.
"I took an LSU visit a couple of weeks ago," he said. "Aside from the football, their campus was beautiful and I got to talk to Coach Miles. They told me that we're at the top of the list they just have to get me to camp. The just have to get their O-line coach, Coach Stud (Greg Studwara) to evaluate me."
Predictably, Hill has his eye on the Tigers and hopes to land that offer this summer.
"LSU is the one that I'm really really aiming for but I think if there was a second option that I want it would be Ole Miss."
