Moon shines light on his recruitment

The best player in the Peach State that no one is talking about could be Decatur, Ga. defensive end Corey Moon. Moon was a beast at the NIKE camp and on the field as a junior. He has already picked up several impressive scholarship offers and more could be on the way.
“I have offers from Auburn, Georgia, Duke, Indiana, Alabama, Clemson, Illinois and Virginia,” Moon said. ”I’m getting interest from South Carolina, Northwestern, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Michigan.”

Moon is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end who can dominate a game. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds and is extremely quick off the ball.
“My top six schools are Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina and Clemson,” Moon said. “I didn’t play football until the 8th grade and I never really cared about it at all before so I never had one specific team that I always pulled for or anything like that. I know that schools like Georgia, Auburn and Alabama are great schools and it is an honor to get an offer from them.”
As a junior Moon amassed 140 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, two interceptions and recovered five fumbles.
“I want to play for a school that has an open mind about me playing football and basketball,” Moon said. “I haven’t decided whether I will do that or not, but I just want to know that it is an option. I want to intern as a construction worker while I am in school, I love that stuff. That or business management is what I want to do. I really want to find a way to mix the two.”
He plans to camp at Auburn, Georgia and Duke and possibly Florida over the summer.
“The NIKE camp really helped me a lot,” Moon said. “I was getting some attention before that, but now everyone seems to be recruiting me. I got several of my offers the week after the camp. I guess it gave some colleges a chance to get a good look at me in person.”
