Montgomery speaks out on his recruitment

We caught up with Rancho Cordova (Calif.) Cordova head coach Max Miller Monday tonight and gave us his thoughts on his standout running back James Montgomery and where he saw his recruitment was going. A few hours later, we caught up with Montgomery himself who had a little different spin on things.
Miller told us it appeared Montgomery was leaning towards staying closer to home and he felt it would be a long shot for the Washington Huskies to hold on to the record breaking running back. What did Montgomery have to say on the subject?

"Nah, I'm still pretty solid with Washington and that's where I see myself signing in February," Montgomery said. "I love my coach but I think sometimes, he tries to speak for me when he doesn't know exactly where I'm coming from.
"I am going to take visits and that was my plan all along but Washington is definitely my leader right now. There is a reason I committed there in the first place and I think it's just a great school and I love the coaches and everything about the school. My family would like me to stay closer to home but leaving is no problem for me.
"I have trips set right now to Oregon for this weekend (Nov. 18), Cal will be (Dec. 2) and UCLA is (Dec. 16). I already visited Washington on an official visit but I plan on going back there for an unofficial visit when Steve Schilling takes his official visit. We've become good friends and we're tripping to Cal together and I told him I was going to come up to Washington when he takes that visit as well."
Miller also mentioned Fresno State as a possibility but Montgomery downplayed that a bit as well.
"Nothing against Fresno State, they're a very good program, but my coach likes them more than me right now," Montgomery joked. "The only visits I'm taking are to Oregon, Cal and UCLA, that's it and then I'll see where everything is at after all my trips are done. Like I said before, right now, when Signing Day rolls around, I see myself signing with Washington but I'm going to take these trips with an open mind and see what happens."
Montgomery had another huge season this past year after earning Student Sports Junior All-American honors a year ago. He rushed for 2,183 yards on 240 carries (9.10 ave.) and 34 touchdowns, added one more score receiving and three on kickoff returns.
