Montgomery speaks out about visits

Rancho Cordova (Calif.) Cordova running back James Montgomery committed to Washington last summer and still maintains he's a solid commit to the Huskies although he wants to take a few official visits. The athlete was in Oregon two weekends ago and has two more trips lined up in December.
Montgomery, 5-9, 185 pounds had a great senior season rushing for 2,183 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also returned three kickoffs for scores and should definitely be considered among the nation's finest running backs.

We talked with Montgomery a few weeks ago and he told us about the trip dates but also made a point to say he was still very committed to the Huskies. The talented ball carrier took an official visit to Oregon (Nov. 18) and said the trip was nice but won't affect his commitment to Washington.
"It was cool, I had a good time," Montgomery said. "I'm still committed to Washington though, they're my top school even after the visit. Oregon was cool though. They have a lot to offer in terms of their facilities and I like the campus and coaches. They have a good program too. They had a good season and they run the ball well so there is a lot to like about Oregon and they said they want to keep in touch with me. I'm still happy with my commitment though."
Montgomery's next visit will be to Cal (Dec. 9) and then UCLA will likely be his final visit (Dec. 16).
"That's the plan," Montgomery said. "I'm just taking these trips to be 100% sure of my decision and my family likes the idea of me looking at all my options as well. Once I'm done with these trips, I should be ready to firm everything up but I think things still look good for Washington right now."
