Montgomery in no hurry

Don't expect a final decision out of Rancho Cordova (Calif.) Cordova running back James Montgomery any time soon. Montgomery, a soft commit to Washington since the summer, took visits to Oregon and Cal and said he won't be ready to announce anything final until close to signing day.
Montgomery, 5-10, 190 pounds is one of the elite running backs out West and a tremendous talent. He was a huge early season coup for the Huskies but always said he wanted to take a few official visits before signing day and that's what he did. The running back visited both Oregon and Cal and said right now, he's still looking at all three schools.

"It's a tough call for me right now and I don't think I'll really know what I'm going to do until close to Signing Day," Montgomery said. "Washington is a great school and that's kind of where my heart is. I took the visit to Cal and it was cool and a lot of people around here are kind of pushing me there but between those two schools, I'm kind of leaning more to Washington.
"I had a home visit last week with coach Tedford at Cal and it was good. I like him a lot, he's a good guy and all but I just wasn't as comfortable at Cal as I was at Washington. Oregon is still in it too and I really liked my visit there and I like their RB coach, Coach Campbell. I was going to wait until Signing Day to make a decision but I know that wouldn't be to the schools I don't choose and I don't want them to have to be left waiting for me when they can go and get another player.
"So right now, I'm just trying to relax and take everything in. It's going to be my choice and I know I have to do what I think is best for me. I'm done with visits and with football over, I'm going to start training for track this season. Like I said, it's going to be tough because all three are good schools and I just want to wait until I'm comfortable with my choice before I announce anything."
