Monster season helps Missouri WR

Chad Shockley is a name that not many people know about in the recruiting game. However, they soon might need to learn it – especially if you're a fan at Tulsa, Miami of Ohio, Kansas, Hawaii or Indiana. Those are the teams that have expressed the most interest in the 6-foot, 200-pound receiver from tiny St. James, Mo.
Shockley, who said he's been timed in the 4.4-second range in the 40-yard dash, is a speedy receiver that put up monster numbers as a senior. Those numbers are starting to draw in quite a few calls from the college coaches.

Shockley racked up 29 touchdowns as a senior, including 52 receptions for 839 yards and 134 carries for 1,337 yards. He was also recently named his conference offensive player of the year and he tied the state single game touchdown record with eight scores in one game.
"Most schools like me a lot, but they say they've not offered because they think I don't play against really good competition," Shockley said. "It's kind of frustrating because I know we play good football in our conference. All I was able to do was go out there and take care of things on the field."
Which is exactly what he did.
"I'm a speed receiver," Shockley said. "I have good size, and do a lot of good things with the football in my hands, but everybody says I surprise them with how fast I run."
Tulsa coach Bob Schultz and Miami of Ohio coach DeAndre Smith are two coaches that Shockley has built a good relationship with.
"I really like them," he said. "They're my favorite two coaches."
Shockley hopes he can make a few more friends here over the next few weeks. He's working hard and making sure that he not longer sticks with that sleeper tag.
"I know I'm good enough to play big time college football," he said.
