Molls is taking care of business

Parma (Ohio) Padua Franciscan inside linebacker Dan Molls has been getting plenty of attention from schools that recruit Ohio heavily. After originally reporting an offer from Kent State, the 6-foot-1, 212-pounder has added a slew more now.

"I have new offers from Bowling Green, Ball State, Miami of Ohio, Ohio University, Army, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan," Molls said. "I have been talking the most with Central Michigan, Ball State, and Ohio University. I haven't seen enough to pick a favorite. I have just spoken with the coaches."

Molls has ties to the Kentucky program because of father played in Lexington, and he hopes the Wildcats decide to get more involved.

"He's e-mailed a few people down there," he said. "I am going to their camp hopefully. They haven't been in contact with me as much as we hoped. As a little kid we used to go up to the Kentucky-Tennessee game every year. I always rooted for them growing up. But I grew away from them as I got older."

Molls said he's not in any kind of rush to make a decision, even though Kent State was the first to jump on board with an early offer.

"I am definitely still very open," he said. "I live 40 minutes away from Kent State, and I still haven't seen the campus. I am very open. I haven't talked to all of the coaches yet. I am going to try and make their camp but I am still looking at my options.

"I made a junior day visit to Notre Dame. They said they want me to come up to their camp. I have actually decided to focus on the camps that are more interested in me and try and get to as many of those as I can. So I probably will not make it up there."

Molls said he's hoping his ability to also play running back will make him a more valuable commodity this season.

"I am going to play more running back this season for my school," he said. "But I definitely want to play line backer in college though. That's my spot."

"I think with our team we just need to be more dedicated and have good work ethic. If we can get everyone to dedicate themselves to the season and the team we will be better. We need to stay focused and our coaches believe in us. We just have to put it all together. The talent is there, but we just have to get out there and do it, and take care of business."
