Moffitt down to two after Wisconsin official

Defensive tackle John Moffitt has taken his third and perhaps last official visit of the recruiting season as the West Haven (Conn.) Notre Dame star headed to Madison. What did the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder think of the Badgers?
"I thought it was a fantastic visit. It was unbelievable as I thought the campus was beautiful and they've got a nice mix of city and college," he said. "I got there early Saturday and went right to the game. Afterwards, I went into the locker room and talked to some of the players and then I went out to dinner.

"On Sunday, I saw the school and academics and got to talk to the coaches. I was with coach Bielema a lot of the time on my visit, I actually thought it was much more than normal especially since he's going to be the head coach. It was a good opportunity though as he even mentioned I'll get a shot at defensive line. I'm very happy about that and was impressed talking to coach Bielema as he's a player's coach. He told me he plans to have the same program there, but he wants to make it better once coach Alvarez steps down."
The two-star prospect enjoyed taking in the Badgers win over Purdue.
"It was a pretty good game and they got the win which makes the trip easier," he said. "I thought the fans were crazy especially in the fourth quarter. The stadium is fantastic and their fans are awesome.
"Overall I was very impressed from my visit and had a good trip. I don't want to rate or compare my visits yet as I'm still trying to keep it open."
Moffitt won't keep it open too much longer as he wants to get a decision out of the way in the next couple weeks.
"Penn State has been pretty slow as I haven't gotten any word from them since last week. If I don't hear from them soon, I'll just say forget it as I plan to decide within a week or two," he said. "I also picked up an offer from Boston College in the last week, but I turned it down because I think the Big Ten is the place for me."
