Moeaki prepares for weekend visit

Wheaton (Ill.) South four-star ranked tight end prospect Anthony Moeaki (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) has switched over from the gridiron to the bouncing of basketballs this winter, yet Moeaki's attention has also been focused on his recruiting.
“I'm playing basketball now but the recruiting stuff has really picked up," Moeaki said. “I'm taking an official visit this weekend to Oregon."

Moeaki's in home visit with Oregon tight ends coach Robin Ross on Sunday night convinced him to make an official visit to Oregon this weekend.
"Coach Ross was here on Sunday night, and we had a really good in home visit. Oregon has been recruiting me really hard, and we talked for about 2 1/2 hours straight on Sunday night. We talked about everything that Oregon has to offer both athletically and educationally, and I decided that I needed to see the school and the campus in person on an official visit. I'm flying out on Saturday morning."
Moeaki also hosted coaches from Brigham Young on Monday night in his home, and Moeaki is also expecting a few more home visits soon.
"I met with the BYU coaches for about two hours on Monday night. We had a really good talk. The in home meetings are a good time to ask questions, it's sort of like having the coaches talking on the phone, but it's also good to place a face with a voice. The Iowa coaches are coming here tonight (Wednesday) and the Tennessee coaches are planning to be here sometime early next week."
Moeaki was also surprised at the firing of Notre Dame head coach Tyrone Willingham on Tuesday afternoon.
"I was sad to hear that Coach Willingham was fired, He is a really good guy and I liked being around him. You know that whoever Notre Dame hires will be a big name coach, and I'm still looking at Notre Dame as one of a handful of schools that I could set my fifth and final official visit with. Notre Dame is still in the picture as far as I'm concerned."
