Modster ready for decision

Devon Modster has taken all his unofficial visits. Soon, the four-star quarterback will be ready to make his commitment.
The Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Tesoro standout will announce his decision at 2:22 p.m. local time Wednesday with Arizona, Boise State and UCLA as the three finalists.

This past weekend Modster took another trip over to UCLA and even though he didn't get to talk much with the coaching staff because of spring practice he got a better feel for the place and what it would be like to play for the Bruins.
"I didn't get a chance to talk with them because they were doing practice and they were busy but I talked to a lot of the recruiting coaches so it was a cool situation," Modster said.
"I don't think they're rushing me to commit or anything but they want to see where I am and if I'm still considering them and everything."
Arizona is an interesting situation because the Wildcats offer him the ability to run and throw in a fast-paced offense but they also have three-star Khalil Tate committed at the position. Boise State would welcome a quarterback of Modster's talents plus his brother plays for the Broncos.
UCLA has made a significant push in his recruitment, though, and Saturday at the IMG 7v7 West Regional in Redondo Beach, Calif., Modster outlined why the Bruins would be such an attractive choice.
"It's UCLA," Modster said. "If you get an education there you'll be pretty good for life. They have a lot of good resources for school and their football program is one of the top so it would be a great school to go to.
"There was a lot of energy and a lot of talent at practice."
Rivals.com rates Modster as the seventh-best quarterback in the class. He threw for 2,500 yards and 24 touchdowns in his junior season and also rushed for 700 yards and 16 scores.
