MN prospect has quicks and more

Waconia High School (Minn.) tight end/inside linebacker prospect Joey Hiben (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) is a standout three sport athlete who has an exceptional physical ability that is always in demand from the colleges, which is called speed.
"Last year I finished 4th in the state in the 110 meter hurdles," Joey Hiben said. "A lot of colleges really took notice of that after the state meet last spring. I'm getting a lot of mail, and Arkansas, Iowa, Northwestern and Notre Dame are sending me mail almost on a daily basis. Penn State and Stanford have also been sending me a lot of mail as well. Both Notre Dame and Arkansas have also started sending me hand-written mail."

When your a three sport athlete (football/basketball and track) like Joey Hiben, making the rounds to various college junior day events is tough to do. "I was invited to several junior day events, but because of basketball it was just too hard for me to get out to any of those events. Last night I was playing basketball, and today I was getting ready for track, so things are always pretty busy for me."
So has Hiben had any time to consider what he's looking for in a college? "I really want to go to a school that has a solid academic reputation. I'm not sure just yet of what I want to major in, but getting the best possible education is very important to me as well as to my family. Football is my main priority sports-wise no question, but I also love track and if it's possible I would like to do both sports in college."
Despite his busy schedule, Hiben is getting his spring and summer plans together. "I'm going to the Nike Camp in Iowa City, Iowa in May. I'm also looking at camping this summer possibly at Penn State as well as at Stanford, but I haven't set anything up just yet."
