Mizzou, Louisville in Jalani Williams’ visit plans

Four-star St. Louis (Mo.) Parkway North athlete Jalani Williams kicked off his junior season with a dozen offers already in-hand, and is looking to schedule visits with a couple schools.

“The last place I have been to was Mizzou and that was for their Night at the Zou camp,” Williams said. “I want to get to Mizzou again. I want to see what their secondary and defense is looking like this year.”

Williams does not have any specific home game weekends circled on his calendar yet for a Missouri visit, but the close proximity of their Columbia campus and his desire to see how they look on the field make for an easy trip.

“Missouri is just a good school and I like the coaches there,” Williams said. “I usually talk to Coach (Cornell) Ford, the recruiting person in my area, and he (talks about) how they work on defense.”

The last school to offer Williams was UCLA in May. Los Angeles is a tough trip to take in the middle of the season, but Williams is hoping to see another school closer to home.

“I want to get to Louisville,” he said. “I just like how their program is run. The linebackers coach, Coach (Cort) Dennison, recruits my area. I haven’t talked to him in awhile, but he is a real good dude and how he talks about the program.”

Parkway North is off to a 2-1 start to their 2017 season. Listed as an athlete prospect, Williams is playing primarily safety and so far is the second-leading tackler on the team behind fellow four-star Michael Thompson.

“I want to play safety in college, and colleges are talking that they like me at the safety position,” Williams said.
