Mixon still waits on offers

With the hectic recruiting process continuing for Joe Mixon, the Oakley (Calif.) Freedom five-star running back decided to head to Washington for a few days to get a better feel for the school but to also just hang out for a few days.
During that trip, Mixon toured the campus and the new football stadium but also just got some down time to relax with friends including former five-star Shaq Thompson, who plays for the Huskies.

"It was pretty cool," Mixon said. "I only went to Washington for one day and then I hung out with my friends for the next two.
"I toured the new stadium and they showed me around the campus and then I saw stuff by Bill Gates' house. It was really nice."
Mixon, who shined at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Chicago, said if he decides to stay local that Washington would be one of the serious contenders.
Schools across the country are recruiting Mixon, though, so he's still undecided on which situation would be best. Alabama and LSU continue to show interest as well so the five-star doesn't want to make any firm statements on leaders yet.
"If I stay on the West Coast it would be one of the schools I'd be looking at seriously," Mixon said of Washington. "I don't want to say they're my No. 1 but they'd be a school I would really look at."
Mixon is supposed to have a call soon with Alabama coach Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide has been showing interest for a while but there's been no offer yet. LSU has also stepped it up recently and might offer.
The five-star has said UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Georgia, Oklahoma and Wisconsin were some early frontrunners but with so much happening all the time, Mixon isn't sure where he stands at the moment in his recruitment.
"I don't even know now," Mixon said. "It's just been crazy."
