Mitchell to visit FSU this weekend

Newnan, Ga., three-star defensive tackle Earnest Mitchell Jr. saw his senior season come to a disappointing end this weekend in the Georgia Dome as his team lost in the Class 5A state semifinals.
But now that his year is over, Mitchell, who is 6-foot-1 and 280 pounds, can finally start to think more and more about recruiting.

“I think I’ve got it narrowed down to about three teams, honestly,” Mitchell said. “You can take Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Maryland off my list. Auburn and Georgia are just talking to me a little bit. Maryland wants me at offensive line, so I don’t want to do that.”
That then leaves three teams on his list, Mitchell said.
“It’s basically Florida State, Arkansas and Clemson,” he said. “I’m hoping that I can get down to Florida State this weekend. Demiko (Goodman) said he was going to go down there this weekend for his visit, so if he goes, then I’ll go with him.”
But if they don’t go, Mitchell said he’ll likely visit on January 9. Arkansas is set up for January 16 and then Clemson is set up for January 23.
Mitchell had previously said Florida State is his top team, but he backed off that this time around.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I look at them all the same to me.”
