Mitchell ready to play an opponent

Newnan, Ga., three-star defensive tackle Earnest Mitchell Jr., knows it’s about game time. He’s tired of scrimmaging and he’s tired of practice. He’s ready to go out there and hurt somebody. Somebody other than himself.
“I’ve rolled my ankle in our second scrimmage,” Mitchell, who is 6-foot-1 and 280 pounds, said. “I have seven tackles in our first scrimmage and had eight and a sack in the second. But I’m ready to get out there and see the field in a real game. It’s time to play for real.”

He’ll get that chance soon enough.
And when he’s not thinking about killing opponents, Mitchell has been thinking about the recruiting process. He used to list Florida State and Maryland high on his list, but that seems to be changing up some.
“I’m a little concerned about Maryland and the probation they were put on,” Mitchell said. “I don’t know if I want to play for a team that might be able to play in bowl games. I want to play in bowl games. Clemson is moving up my list, too. They’re up there with Florida State and Maryland now.”
But the rest is pretty much the same, he said. Mitchell said he’s not in any kind of rush to make a decision and is hoping to also see games at Auburn and LSU this fall.
