Mitchell looks forward to Big Ten career

Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve tight end Brendan Mitchell committed to Northwestern in September. And while that did not completely end the recruiting process at the time, for the most part it has now.
"Some schools are still recruiting me a little," Mitchell said. "The most recent one is Michigan.

"But for the most part the other schools have moved on. My only (official) visit will be Northwestern. I talk to them just about every week."
Mitchell does not have an official visit date set in stone yet with the Wildcats. However he is thinking ahead to his first season in Evanston.
"I'd like to play (as a true freshman), but it's just a blessing to be a scholarship athlete at Northwestern," Mitchell said. "They like my versatility. Like anyone, if you work hard you have a chance to play."
The 6-foot-2 and 223 pound Mitchell led Western Reserve to an 8-0 record by catching close to two dozen passes. Mitchell scored eight times.
