Mitchell keeps recruiting in mind

Having a senior season sitting at 3-4 is not the way New Iberia (La.) Westgate wide receiver Jared Mitchell was planning for things to go. Like any leader though, the 5-foot-11, 197-pound four-star prospect is expecting things to turn around.
Rated as the No. 11 prospect in the state of Louisiana, Mitchell and his team are looking at two must win games in the next few weeks to keep things going in the right direction. As for off-the-field priorities such as recruiting, things have stayed very constant.

"I've got the same offers right now," Mitchell said about his scholarships that include LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Tulane. "As for visits, that's something that haven't been set up yet. We haven't really talked about any dates yet."
The schools he knows he'll visit include LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
"I got the Texas A&M offer about a month ago, so I guess it's not really new," Mitchell said. "Those three schools are not so much the favorites, but they just keep in touch every week to see how things are going. That's why I want to visit those places for sure."
Mitchell says when he takes his visits playing time and how he fits in with the program will be of extra importance. He will get to those trips after his season.
"I'm focused on getting the team back where we should be," Mitchell said. "My visits will be when everything is done with my season and I can focus on recruiting more."
