Mitchell excited about decision

Nick Mitchell is not fazed by Oregon State taking another quarterback in this class or accepting the transfer of Luke Del Rio from Alabama.
The three-star quarterback from Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si said he's not afraid to work for the starting job so instead of being hesitant about all the quarterbacks heading to Oregon State, he's embracing it and excited about the future.

"I'm a super-competitive dude," Mitchell said. "I just look at it as another opportunity to help myself get better and I don't shy away from competition. I'm excited about it."
The three-star quarterback took his official visit to Oregon State this past weekend and loved it. He's excited about the offense, the coaching staff, his future teammates and the competition.
Mitchell is excited to run such a wide-open offense - and he thinks he has the talent to win the starting job down the road.
"It was great," Mitchell said. "It was a lot of fun. The best part of it was really getting to know all the other recruits and getting to know my future teammates. That was really great."
The Mount Si quarterback spent a lot of time with fellow Oregon State commit Drew Clarkson during his trip. Mitchell won't know many people once he gets to Corvallis so having a few good friends - like Clarkson - will be important.
"I hung out with Drew Clarkson the most," Mitchell said. "I really got to know him well.
"It's huge. Just going in, you're going to be thrown in there with 80 guys you don't really know and just having some teammates going in there that you know it will help a lot."
