Mitchell down to two

Pasadena (Calif.) Muir defensive back Lance Mitchell has had a pair of Pac 10 programs on the top of his board for most of the season. The talented safety has now set official visits to each school and could have his decision made by mid-December.
Mitchell, 6-2, 190 pounds is a player we've liked for awhile. He had a big junior season racking up over 100 tackles from his safety position and he really impressed at the NorCal NIKE Camp.

Mitchell didn't put up eye popping testing numbers but was dominant in the position and one on one drills and was rated the top DB in the camp by the NIKE staff.
We were in attendance at Mitchell's first game this season, a game he would soon rather forget.
"Yeah, we played Oaks Christian and got blown out," Mitchell said. "We put that one behind us pretty fast though and have gone 8-1 since. We're really playing well and I'm excited to see how we do in the playoffs."
On the recruiting front, Oregon State and Arizona both offered Mitchell early in the process and the safety said he will be deciding between those two schools.
"That's basically it," Mitchell said. "Those two have been on me from the beginning and I'm going to make my decision after my visits. I have Arizona (Dec. 1) and Oregon State (Dec. 8). After I visit each, I should be ready to make my decision.
"I liked Oregon State already but after seeing them beat USC, that really showed me a lot. They have a good defense and I'm friends with Patrick Fuller, one of their running backs who I've known for a long time.
"Arizona is doing some good things right now as well and I've always liked Coach Stoops. He's a defensive minded coach and his defenses play fast and aggressive. I think I would fit in very well if I went there because that's how I try to play as well."
