Mitchell down to final two

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Valdosta (Ga.) athlete Malcolm Mitchell is enjoying his time at the Under Armour All-American Game, but he knows that an even bigger moment awaits him in the next couple weeks. That moment is when he will officially announce his college decision.
"Where things stand, my final decision will be out of Alabama and Georgia and I will be making my decision on the 13th (of January)," Mitchell said.
The Rivals250 prospect has previously taken an official visit to Georgia, visiting Athens on December 10th.

"It was a great time," Mitchell said. "They showed me everything that Georgia has to offer. They showed me a lot when I had a chance to go to one of the practices, so I saw how they practice. They just showed me an overall good time. I really enjoyed myself there."
The 6-foot-1, 187-pound athlete will make his way to Alabama for an official visit on January 7th.
"On previous trips I have met all the coaches and seen how they operate," Mitchell said. "I have met a few of the players. What I am looking to see is everything Alabama has to offer as far as football, academics - just everything."
At this point, the four-star athlete said that he isn't ready to name a leader. He will know after the Alabama trip though.
"I am going to let that trip come," Mitchell said. "That trip will probably decide where I go."
This week Mitchell has been contributing as a wide receiver, but at the next level he is likely going to find himself on the defensive side of the ball.
"Alabama wants me to play corner or in the secondary," Mitchell said. "Georgia is the same way, but they might move me to offense."
For now though, he is enjoying his time working at wide receiver and competing against some of the nation's best talent.
"It has been fun," Mitchell said. "There is a lot of competition here. It is just a great place to be. I am glad I got picked."
