Missouri TE about to be a Gopher

St. Louis (Mo.) McCluer North two-star tight end Sam Scroggins is one of the sleeper tight end prospects in the Midlands Region. Despite recruiting fans not knowing much about him, the college coaches are aware of him – especially the Minnesota Gophers.
“I took my first visit to Minnesota this weekend,” Scroggins, who is 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, said.

While it was his first, it might be his last.
“I’m leaning toward Minnesota for sure,” Scroggins said. “I liked the atmosphere and the relationship between the coaches and players. They have nice facilities and it’s cool to play in the Dome. I haven’t committed – yet.”
But that could change he said when Glen Mason makes his in-home visit on Wednesday.
“You’ll need to call me back then,” he said.
Scroggins does have visits to Kansas set for January 16, Indiana on January 9 and then Georgia Tech on January 23, but those visits might never happen if he commits.
Minnesota, Georgia Tech and Arkansas State have offered scholarships. Scroggins had two catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns this year.
