One of the nation's top interior linemen has made up his mind and is heading to the MAC.
St. Louis Christian Brothers three-star offensive center Andrew Ness said he pledged to Ball State.
He picked the Cardinals over offers from Rice, SMU and interest from Arkansas, Colorado State, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
Ness, who is 6-foot-4 and 298 pounds, ranks as the No. 13 player in the state of Missouri.
"I committed on Sunday," Ness said. "I'm excited about the commitment. It's a great fit, and a great situation for me."
Ball State recently beat MAC rival Central Michigan 31-17. The Cardinals are 2-3 on the season.
