Missouri linebacker heading to defending champs

When Mark Mangino first arrived at Oklahoma, he was able to lure the top prospect in Kansas City, Jamar Mozee, away to the Sooners. Two years later, he's struck again.
This time, Mangino and the Sooners have landed Grandview, Mo., linebacker Wayne Chambers. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Chambers committed to Oklahoma on Monday, picking OU over Clemson, Michigan State, Purdue, Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri and Northwestern (all offered).

"It's a good - no great program," Chambers said. "I e-mailed coach Mangino and coach Venables on Monday to let them know I was coming. Then I called them this morning and left a message. I haven't actually talked to them yet, but I'm definitely coming to OU."
Chambers, who has a 3.2 grade-point average and a 19 on the ACT, said the Sooners' commitment to academics was the No. 1 reason why he picked OU.
"I want to major in marketing, and they have a good program there," he said.
It also didn't hurt that OU is the defending national championship, either.
"The football is the best there," he said. "You can't beat what they have going on. It's away from home, but it's not too far away. It's in the Big 12, and they are the best of the best."
