Missouri lands four-star WR Courtney Crutchfield
Missouri continues to stockpile top talent, adding a commitment from four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield to their stellar 2024 recruiting class.
ON MISSOURI: "I really like how the coaching staff treats their players and they really showed that they not only want you, but they need you and want you to be a part of their program. They've got a very explosive offense and have been very consistent. I can see that they are really turning things around. I like that kind of explosive offense that I think I can play in and get to the NFL."
THE PROCESS: Crutchfield initially committed to the home state Razorbacks back on April 4th, but backed off his pledge on November 4th. Missouri instantly became a contender, especially with his high school teammate, Austyn Dendy, already committed to the Tigers. Mizzou got Crutchfield on campus for an official visit this past weekend and were able to seal the deal with another high-level offensive weapon.
WHAT THE TIGERS ARE GETTING: Size, speed, and a big-time playmaker. During his senior season, Crutchfield hauled in 42 catches for 930 yards and 13 touchdowns. That's an average of 22.3 yards per catch, proving that with his 6-foot-3, 176-pound frame he is a bonafide downfield threat that can run past defenders and get vertical for high-point catches.
WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE TIGERS' CLASS: Crutchfield is the second wide receiver commitment for Missouri, joining fellow four-star talent James Madison out of St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.). While Missouri missed out on in-state, five-star Ryan Wingo back in October, the combination of Madison and Crutchfield is a heck of a consolation prize for a Tigers' football program that is trending upward.
