Missouri DE has a leader

St. Louis Oakville defensive end John Hopkins is one of the better players in the Show Me State. Ranked as the state's No. 18 player, he's having a strong senior season with four sacks in only three games.
There's also plenty of interest for him. He's gotten offers from Indiana, Michigan State and Northern Illinois, and at this point a few other teams have tried to get involved with him.

"I've been talking mainly to Northern Illinois, but also Penn State and Kansas have been in contact with me lately. I want to go see Michigan State, Indiana, Kansas, and I would like to take one down to Tennessee, but I don't think they're really interested in me right now."
It looks like he does have a leader.
"Probably Northern Illinois," he said." I went and watched them play Indiana State and that was pretty cool. I don't have any official visits set up yet. I don't even know when I'm going to do that. But I would say Northern Illinois is my top team right now."
Hopkins looked good at both the NIKE Training Camp and then again this summer at the Missouri summer camp. While he might not have the measurables – only 6-foot-1 and 218 pounds and a 4.99 40-yard dash – that some schools like, he's one heck of a football player regardless.
