Missouri continues to show South Carolina QB Mason Garcia he's a priority

Despite coming in the Charlotte stop of the Rivals Camp Series presented by adidas as a three-star, Class of 2020 South Carolina quarterback Mason Garcia was a virtual unknown on the national recruiting stage. He held offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Charlotte and Campbell. But after putting on an MVP performance and wowing with his arm strength, Garcia has suddenly become a very popular man among college coaches. Shortly after the event, Missouri, Colorado State and Akron all offered, and several more programs are coming by to watch Garcia throw this spring. Rivals.com caught up with Garcia to talk about the heavy interest from the Tigers as well who else he's expecting to come through this spring.

"Getting the Missouri offer is great for me, especially knowing Kelly Bryan really well and how he's adjusted to life up there. I have watched him for awhile and have seen him grow into the player/person he is now and he choose Missouri for a reason so the fact that they see some of the same stuff in me is big. Kelly has told me how he likes the coaching staff a lot and the ability to be taken in by the program like family."

On Mizzou coaches coming to see him: "That shows me that they're serious about me and they want to get a look at me up close. I have been talking to the coaches and we are developing a nice relationship. Hopefully I'll be making it there for a visit soon."

On Drew Lock getting drafted: "It shows a lot about what they can do as a program to make their football players succeed. Especially at the quarterback position."

On when he will visit: "As soon as possible. Our spring ball is coming up next week for three weeks so as soon as everything with school ball finishes up for the spring I'll be able to get out and take some visits."

On which schools will be coming to watch him throw in the spring: "A lot of coaches have told me they're going to be coming by and my coach said we can expect a lot, too. I'll just see who comes and take it from there."
