Missouri athlete could play anywhere

ST. LOUIS – Wellington (Mo.) Wellington-Napoleon athlete Kyle Nixdorf admits he's a versatile guy. So when colleges ask him what position he wants to play, he tells them he plays where ever they want him to.
"A lot of schools are recruiting me for different positions, so I have to keep my options open and look at them for what they're looking at me for," Nixdorf said Sunday at Missouri's one-day camp in St. Louis.

"I got calls in May from Alabama, Kansas State, Missouri and Arkansas. They're all looking at me for different positions – fullback, linebacker or defensive line."
The good news is that Nixdorf, who is 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, is open to about anything.
"I couldn't be a fullback at Missouri since they don't use one in the spread offense," Nixdorf said. "They're looking at me at linebacker and defensive end. Alabama, Kansas State and Arkansas like me at fullback. I went down to the Georgia NIKE Camp, so I think a lot of people liked what I did down there, too."
Nixdorf said he's still searching for his first offer, but he definitely caught the attention of Tiger coaches on Sunday. He hopes to do the same thing when he camps here over the next few weeks at both Alabama and Arkansas.
"I'm keeping all of my options open," he said. "I want to see how things go this summer and hopefully I'll have some good schools to pick from."
