Mississippi two-way star has offers

One of the top two-way athletes in Mississippi, Brandon's
Bobby

Weakley, has seen a handful of scholarship offers and heightened
interest come his way in recent weeks.
The 6-foot, 211-pound fullback/safety has received
offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Kentucky and Maryland. He's also getting high interest from LSU and Auburn.
"I like the schools from Mississippi most of all," he
said. "A few of my old teammates, Jerious Norwood, Rico Bennett and Richard
Burke, are at State. I went up there and watched them in a scrimmage this
weekend. I guess you could say they have the edge because of that, but I'm
trying to stay open and look at all these schools.
His decision may be affected by what position he's
recruited to play.
"The majority of the them are recruiting me as a running
back," Weakley said. "But a couple of them, like Kentucky and Maryland, are
looking at me as a safety. Southern Miss is saying safety or running back. Some
of them say both like that.
"Running back is my favorite position. That's what I
love doing and the position I've played the longest, but I'm the type of player
who gives 100 percent no matter where I am. Wherever I fit in best is fine with
me."
As a junior, Weakley rushed for 422 yards on only 69
carries. That came despite sharing time with Norwood, a prep All-American, and
missing four games due to injury. So while the stats may not jump off the page,
scouts are aware of his raw potential, which includes a 4.5 forty and
exceptional strength levels (325 bench, 510 squat).
