Mississippi State on list for 2021 Georgia LB Chaz Chambliss

Schools from around the Southeast were jockeying to get Class of 2021 Georgia linebacker Chaz Chambliss on campus over the past month, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, he wasn't able to make as many trips as he expected. Instead, one of the few schools that hosted Chambliss for a visit was Mississippi State. The Bulldogs continue to work hard on Chambliss and getting him back on campus to workout was a major coup. Rivals.com caught up with Chambliss to talk about the trip and get his overall thoughts on Mississippi State.

"I've been hearing from a lot of schools, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and a few others. A lot of them have been wanting me to come visit but I just haven't been able to make it because of some family matters. I did make it to Mississippi State, though."

Mississippi State: "I went there for the camp and it was a top-notch camp. There were a lot of recruits there and a lot of competition. I didn't perform as well as I would have hoped but it's always good to get out and get good work against good players."

Feedback from coaches: "They see me as a middle linebacker in their defense and they also want me to be able to drop back and cover. They gave me some tips and my coverage skills are something I keep working on. I can play inside or outside linebacker so I'm just trying to keep getting better."

Thoughts on campus: "It's a pretty campus. I've been there before and I like it. I went there for a game back in the fall and it was really loud with all the cowbells and everything."

Talented linebackers on roster: "They have a couple of guys that might get drafted this year, especially their inside guys, so that's something to pay attention to because that's the position I would be playing so seeing those guys have success is important."
